One of the experiments carried out at the center was shading in the confinement pens. The objective was to evaluate an innovative concept called Smart Shading, in which shading structures allow:

• Motivate animals to seek shelter during hotter periods. 
• Protect animals from solar radiation, especially short-wave radiation. 
• Improve production efficiency. 
• Present financial return. 
• Increase the sustainability of the confinement operation, through greater production of arrobas with the same amount of feed and reducing the animals' water intake. 

The information generated by the research allows our clients (partner companies, consultants and livestock farmers) to have first-hand access to the results, helping to make decisions in each sector. Consequently, we work actively in the dissemination and development of new validated technologies so that they can be subsequently adopted.
